Ever wanted to tell someone you love them, via the medium of an engraved iOS tablet? Your luck is in, as Apple has extended its free engraving option to the iPad. Adding 1-3 days to the delivery process (non-engraved iPads are currently shipping in 24hrs), you can add one or two lines of text to the back of the slate, just below where you’d find the antenna plastic on the 3G model.
Unfortunately, despite the expanse of aluminum Apple has to work with, you’re still limited to just those two lines; we’d have liked to have seen a fully-covered rear panel, but you’ll have to pick up a third-party adhesive skin if you want that degree of customization. Just make sure your spelling is correct and the person you’re buying for really does want an iPad: custom orders can’t be returned unless they’re defective.
